But is it true? Do users prefer jumping through randomly selected pages, or are they more likely to choose the “Load more” option? To solve this dilemma, we analyzed our data and checked how people use pagination in search results. How do we use search engines? Our data – obtained in cooperation with Luigi's Box – includes user search results. From hundreds of websites. For the purposes of this article, we analyzed data from two months of search history on the 200 most active pages in our shared portfolio that use traditional pagination phone number list or the "Load More" method. We deliberately chose websites from various sources - from traditional stores selling books, clothing, electronics, through sellers of food and medicines, to suppliers of telecommunications products. Every page we included in our analysis contained at least 1,000 search results (with a median of 17,600 per customer. Using pagination to navigate between results When users use pagination steps, they visit the next or previous page of results. “Pagination jump” means clicking on any page. When users perform one search query and view pages of results, we record this as one search session. We consider it a new search session when the search query or filter is changed.
