COAT HANGERS- Ideas that we could build from to string together some words…
THE BRAINSTORM WWWWSHSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Art as a function
Something that prevents us from murdering
Mental dysfunctions and how art helps us combat this
A form of reprocessing experiences and thoughts together
Post-apocalyptic
Thoughts upon the future.
Time?
A reaction to the technological age?
Black and white as a theme Why this colour? Sombre, an emotive state, neutrality, avoiding the connotations certain colours allude to.
The feminine
A female perspective
Gendery things
Gender identity
Objectification of the female figure
Feminising of males in fashion
Genitals (i can't think of what to better call this) F.U’s
Takin’ the piss
Sarcasm
Ways we could form the writing is we could have
a.) General overarching ‘coat hanger’ of a theme which we all collectively write, or one person writes on one main thing.
b.) General overarching ‘coat hanger’ of a theme as first paragraph. Next paragraph we could each have our own paragraphs that elaborate more specifically on our own ideas, etc. And if we could try and link it loosely to the main group ‘coat hanger’ this would be good.
c.) Or we could separately write all our own text on what we want to say about our own work individually. And then stick it all together. If we did this, it would be good to atleast have a really loose theme of something simple like ‘black and white’, or ‘2-d’, ‘Drawing’, ect.
I would rather go with b.), but add your own thoughts and any other ideas.
More ‘coat hanger’ themes would be good . Or elaborating on the ones above, thats all i can think of right now.

I Like coat-hanger number b.)It would make it easier to have an overall structure to our writing, eg. Intro -(points and common elements) Paragraphs 1, 2, and 3 - Our own writing on these common elements and work.
Conclusions - Flaarg BlarrrAlso I like the Art as Function and the Feminism side. I'm going to do some photographic self portraits that would relate completely with both of these that i might use in the show. Also i think we all have a hint of the post apocalyptic and black in white. Its inherent in our techniques and the mediums we use and the issues we are expressing. Lets be honest we're not creating work about sunshine and bunny rabbits..... or ARE WE?! Lastly, do you guys like oxbow? I'm obsessed at the mo. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCQ3fjxJaGY Basically anything on the "An evil heat" album.

SEVENTH GALLERY- must be received by Friday 5 December 2014.
Just as a note.
Also red gallery is cheap and seems to take proposals at any time (i'm assuming, and have heard this from someone…somewhere….) And their staff sit the gallery during the show which means LESS EFFORT YES TICK

Yup, i think mine is www.tarrynmcgregor.com As you will see, i have not posted in almost a year, however the pelican drawing is current. Also to confirm, we're meeting on wednesday. What is the earliest time for you two? I honestly would be happy to aim for a proposal to submit for the submission dates coming up, obviously this would take a few hours. Should we meet at cafe place again and go from there? I like the kitsch point! Our work is misanthropic and nihilistic but at the same time we have the ability to not take things too seriously, there isnt any pretence or arogance in our work, any kitsch almost acts like visual sarcasm.
